Retail Lighting
Client: Beeline Telecommunications Flagship Store, Moscow, Russia - 2007
Interior Lighting Design scheme
This 750m2 flagship store is the first in a retail rollout for Beeline Mobile Telecoms
in Russia. The store has set new retail standards in Russia and opened in The Arbat,
Moscow's premier shopping district in September 2007.
Brief: To create a sophisticated, contemporary interior lighting design scheme
to complement the brand, and to be practical and functional without compromising
the interior design.
Concept: The interior design of the store brings the premium Beeline brand
to life and every aspect of the store has been designed with an immersive and experiential
feel. Working very closely with international design consultancy Above, the lighting
design scheme created used a range of accent, diffuse and task luminaries. Eleni
lit the curved cocoon like archway with an RGB LED colour changing system providing
a real wow factor for customers on entrance and exit to the store.
It was imperative that the merchandise displays were bright and energising to draw
customers to the range of products on offer, with specific fittings used within
the retail wall units to individually light the merchandise, encouraging interest
from the consumers within the space.
Another key focus was the VIP area. Low-level lighting from bespoke lampshades creates
an intimate and private pool of light over each booth resulting in the VIP clients
feeling that they had the privacy that they required, in a clearly defined more
luxurious area of the store.
