Client: The Merkaba Bar, MyHotel, Jubilee Quarter, Brighton - 2008

Interior Lighting Design scheme

Brief: To highlight the hand carved cavernous space and curved walls at the heart of the hotel without interfering with the unique dynamic structure.

Concept:Benchmark (part of the Conran Group) had already created an unusual architecturally designed space providing a number of lighting design challenges. Working closely alongside them, fittings were chosen to both complement and emphasize the pewter materials used at the central bar, reflecting light from its surface whilst maintaining an intimate ambience in this atmospheric cocoon. With three distinct design led areas of the interior, the lighting design perfectly ties together the geometry of architectural design features and structures.
